Job Description

Our client is a full-service sheet metal fabricator located in the St. Charles, IL area. They are looking for Press Brake Setup Operators.

Pay will be based on experience but can range $25-$29/hour.

1st shift available!

Press brake operators produce parts and tools from metal using a press brake, a computer numeric controlled (CNC) piece of equipment that makes precision bends. The use of hand tools such as dial calipers, bar micrometer, squares and protractors. Converting decimals to fractions is also part of the daily tasks.

The responsibilities of the Press Brake Setup Operator position will include but are not limited to:
• Operate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) on respective AMADA brand equipment
• Perform machine set-ups, adjusting and loading tooling, and making changes at the controls for parts as required for specifications set forth in blueprints, drawings, engineering orders, etc.
• Check parts for conformance to prescribed tolerances
• Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and/or materials to Supervisor or Quality Control Specialist (QC)
• Setup and operate machines, independently with limited supervision
• Assist in monthly inventory count to ensure proper inventory control

The requirements of the Press Brake Setup Operator position:
• Must have Press Brake Experience (1-2 years minimum experience) (Amada experience preferred)
• Experience with Amada HDS, HG Press Brakes or Cincinnati Press Brakes a plus
• Must be able to work at fast pace, follow instructions and be self-motivated
• Requires excellent math skills including fractions, and geometry
• Requires ability to read measuring equipment, calipers and other tools
• Requires ability to read blueprints and calculate bend allowances
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to ensure and verify parts match to customer drawings
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent
• Cad or drafting experience a plus
