Security Systems Technician Job Details
Location: Lexington, KY
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm
Pay: $18-$30 depending on experience
Position Type: Direct Hire / Temp-to-Hire (as applicable)
About the Security Systems Technician Role
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Security Systems Technician to install, troubleshoot, and service access control, video surveillance, security, and electrified door hardware systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with strong technical, networking, and customer service skills who can work independently while supporting complex projects in the field.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
-Install, troubleshoot, and repair Access Control, IP/Analog Video, Security, and Electrified Door Hardware systems.
-Terminate, test, and commission system components and associated cabling.
-Install and troubleshoot electrified door hardware.
-Demonstrate understanding of relay logic concepts.
-Perform basic programming for Access Control, IP/Analog Video, Security, and Electrified Door Hardware systems.
-Utilize analytical and diagnostic tools such as multi-meters, cable testers, and software diagnostics.
-Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
-Work with EMT conduit, connectors, and fasteners.
-Collaborate closely with general contractors to ensure customer satisfaction and timely issue resolution.
-Attend project meetings when required.
-Provide customer training on installed systems.
-Participate in a 24/7 rotating on-call schedule as assigned by management.
-Mobilize directly to jobsites with all required materials and tools.
-Manage and replenish materials needed for upcoming projects.
-Maintain a neat, organized work style to ensure accuracy and quality.
-Check email regularly and follow through on commitments.
