Crown Staffing is urgently hiring for an OD Grinder Operator in Dayton, Ohio!
Grinder Operator Job Details
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM
Pay Rate: $20.00–$30.00/hour (based on experience)
Location: Dayton, OH 45439
Overtime: Optional overtime available on Fridays and weekends; never mandatory
Grinder Operator Requirements/Qualifications
- Proven experience operating manual grinders required
- Ability to read and interpret customer drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Proficiency using precision measuring tools, including micrometers, Arnold gauges, snap gauges, and dial indicators
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain precise finishes and measurements
- Ability to follow work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures
- Ability to lift and move materials throughout the shift
- Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
About the Grinder Operator Role
As a Grinder Operator, your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and operating CNC and/or manual OD grinding machines
- Reading and interpreting customer prints, drawings, and specifications
- Inspecting finished parts to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Measuring workpieces using micrometers, Arnold gauges, snap gauges, and dial indicators
- Dressing grinding wheels to maintain proper surface finishes and performance
- Achieving precise runout and diameter specifications
- Following work orders and production instructions accurately
- Maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work area
- Lifting and moving materials as needed throughout the production process
- Collaborating with team members to meet production and quality goals
