Schedule Information
- Monday–Friday
- 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Day shift
- 13-week assignment
Mammography Technologist Requirements
- At least two years of relevant experience
- Current ARRT certification
- Current ARRT Mammography certification or registration, as required
- Current BLS certification
- Applicable state radiology credentials
- Experience performing screening and diagnostic mammography examinations
- Knowledge of radiation-safety and infection-control procedures
- Ability to position patients properly for mammographic imaging
- Experience using PACS and electronic medical records
- Ability to operate digital mammography and standard diagnostic-imaging equipment
- Strong patient-care, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to assist with positioning patients
- Ability to bend and reach as necessary
Key Responsibilities
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography examinations according to physician orders.
- Follow facility procedures and imaging-quality standards.
- Prepare patients for mammographic examinations.
- Explain procedures and educate patients throughout the imaging process.
- Position patients properly to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
- Operate digital mammography and related breast-imaging equipment.
- Follow all radiation-safety and infection-control procedures.
- Complete required imaging and patient documentation.
- Maintain accurate records in PACS and electronic medical records.
- Perform assigned equipment and imaging quality-control procedures.
- Communicate patient concerns or abnormal findings according to facility protocol.
- Use patient-positioning and radiation-protection equipment correctly.
